Jello, Guns, and Football

Not to be confused with Lawyers, guns, and money. Wow. The first cruise around Fargo shows off how really beautiful this town is- gorgeous historical brick buildings and incredible Deco neon signs, more on them later. Being a supermarket fetishist, ( I think you can tell a LOT about a people by taking a spin through a local market) I had the Colonel take me to Hornbachers, the biggest market in Fargo, where I found nearly an ENTIRE aisle devoted to Jell-O. On the hanging sign above the aisle, JELL-O is listed as one of the things you can find- the only branded product listed on one of those signs on the whole store. Please forgive the extreme blur.

Previously we had browsed the Outdoorsman shop, where I was forced against my will to hold and try to sight a rifle. I'm not that into guns. But man there were a lot of them.

And then- College football! The first game of the season at the FargoDome, an indoor football stadium. The NDSU Bison beat the Lumberjacks from some Texas school. And, interestingly enough, with their penchant for boozing it up and having a good old time, these guys don't drink at college games- no beer was being served. Bummer.

BJM: I guess you need to buy a bunch of jello, set them up on a tree stump and start shooting them with rifles after the football win - as a form of celebration.

If you email me a photo or two I can post on my photo blog - maybe the airport food shot? JE
