Food Tidbits

In North Dakota we discovered a treat- maple butter with corn muffins. And in Miles City, Montana, another wonder- fried green beans.

Game Farm

This Game Farm has been around for ages- on a farm property is a protected area filled with deer, elk, horses, cows, bison, and more. The family has also moved the old New Rockford train depot onto their property, in disrepair but still beautiful. As we were leaving the grounds, we noticed BEARS in a fenced in shed. Seriously- freaking BEARS! There was also a roof piled with antlers and racks from various animals- evidently elk horns are ground into powder and sold in Asian countries as an aphrodisiac. Who knew?

Mansion on the Hil

This abandoned homestead is crumbling, but beautiful. The cow bones were found on the property.

Long Time, No See

Hi folks. We've been driving and driving with not a wifi signal for miles and miles- we've settled into Livingston, Montana for the night after some horse riding, gun shooting, and chicken feeding in Opportunity, MT, where Corey's sis Sally lives. Lots of stuff going on- I'm just posting some pics now, will add more shortly. A wrap up of North Dakota- a game farm, bears, abandoned cow skeletons, corn muffins with maple butter, and much more.

Fighting Sioux

Last night we drove into Grand Forks, ND to see a UND Fighting Sioux college hockey game (my first ever!). Amazing seats meant we were right up on the ice, with those college boys smashing their faces right into the glass in front of us. Several pucks ricocheted in our direction- even with the glass, you duck. A mighty win meant everyone went home happy. And I drank 22oz of beer. Beat that! Also- fashionistas, check out the pants (or lack thereof) on this girl seated behind us. Mind you that we were in an ice hockey arena, and it was about 24 degrees outside with snow flurries. Discuss.

Food Time!

While I haven't hit the bakery yet with the camera, I have been snapping some food pics. Feast your eyes on the aforementioned Taco in a Bag, chocolate covered potato chips (yes, mom- I'll try to not eat them all), Lavosh (middle eastern flatbread pizza, no idea why they are so prevalent)and a layered cappucino. Oh- and some Pizza Ranch pizza. Keste it's not- but it'll do.
